The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama is based on scandals.
During his speech at the conference organized in the context of the local elections, Berisha said that like never before in these past 30 years, the hand of the government was extended over to the opposition.
“We are in the third term in the opposition and this is absolutely not due to the merits of the government, but because of the weakness of the opposition, because here we have had and still have a government that can be summed up in two words: “A scandal-based government.” A government based on scandals. This journey of the opposition in these past few years has been a dull journey, in one way or another, unfortunately, as never in these 30 years, the hand of the Government extended to the opposition.
And among Albanians, the impression was created that Edi Rama is unbeatable, he cannot be beaten, and the opposition, so to speak, just works under him. In this context, the DP was faced with the alternative “To be or not to be” – To exist or to merge. But I thought and still think that it should exist because over 620 thousand Albanians voted for it in the last elections. But what should have existed, had to be radically changed, a completely transformed party should be presented to Albanians, otherwise they have no reason to trust us”, argued Berisha.
