The new academic year 2022-2023 has begun today, and there are about 20 thousand students who sit in the auditoriums for the first time.
Unlike other years, this time the university professors in Tirana have announced that they will boycott the lesson and will hold a protest from 10:00 to 12:00.
In the meantime, the lecturers also ask for the support of the students for the protest.
Lectures’ demands
– Salary increase for lecturers and support staff
– Increase funding for scientific research
-Restoration of salary supplements
-Increase the salary allowance for seniority
-Increase the payment of additional workload hours
-Revaluation of the teaching hour as there is a decrease by 50% of the payment of the teaching hour as a result of the non-differentiation of each lecture.
-Revision of the tax of 23% on the payment of the additional load
– To suspend until 2026 the implementation of point c) of paragraph 3, of Chapter III of VKM No. 112, dated 23.2.2018, for the criteria for receiving the title “Professor”.
– Provide transparency on the budget and income of public universities.
