Socialist Party MP Blendi Klosi, stated that the work and management that has been done in Tirana are the reasons why the mayor, Erion Veliaj, should run for the third time.

During his appearance on Euronews Albania’s ‘NOW’ with Erla Mehilli, Klosi said that this is the opinion as a whole within the Socialist Party.

“Edi Rama has said it explicitly, we don’t have any formal decision, but I don’t find any reason why Erion Veliaj should be transferred from Tirana. This is a fact, the work that has been done in Tirana, the way the city has been managed, the way the city has developed, are very strong credentials for Erion Veliaj to run for the third time in the city. That’s what we think,” he said.

A few weeks ago, Prime Minister Edi Rama said during an interview for “Now” that the Socialist Party has no better candidate than the mayor, Erion Veliaj, for the upcoming local elections in Tirana. Rama also underlined that it is the Leadership of the SP that decides on the candidates for mayor.
