After the meeting of the Security Committee, the Democratic MP, Ervin Salianji, told the press that the State Police does not know to what extent online systems have been attacked by hackers.

“The State Police, as well as other government institutions, find a pretext as if they have state secrets to keep their failure in regards to the protection of citizens’ data hidden from the public. Today, the State Police does not even have a complete database on the level at which the systems were stolen or hacked,” said the Democratic MP.

Salianji underlined that the Albanian government has spent a lot of money to protect online systems, but there is no protection.

“There are contradictions, it is claimed that the systems dealing with classified information have not been affected, while you yourself have seen that such information has been published and leaked in the press. They have no protection for the systems in Albania, then they fell, money was spent, but there is no real protection”, the MP stated further.
