The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said that his agreement with the chief democrat, Sali Berisha, on cooperation for the next local elections, will be signed within 24 hours.
In a statement to the press, Meta underlined that this agreement is of interest to all Albanians.
“Our agreement that has already been concluded is an agreement that Albanians have a great interest in. It includes primaries and a referendum. It will be signed within 24 hours. We have an extraordinary agreement with Berisha. What are we agreeing on? We’re agreeing on the principles of cooperation not only DP-FP but of the entire opposition factor”, he said.
This Wednesday morning, Meta went to Berisha’s office where a meeting took place for more than 30 minutes.
After the meeting, Meta said that there will be a joint referendum and primaries with the Democratic Party.
Among other things, the former president announced that he has proposed a name to Berisha, for the chairman of the Municipal Council of Tirana, for the upcoming local elections.
He underlined that Berisha welcomed his proposal, although he did not make his name public.
