The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has warned Prime Minister Edi Rama and the former chief democrat, Lulzim Basha, regarding pluralism in the country.
In a statement to the press, Meta underlined that if they want to eliminate political pluralism, they will have the fate of Mussolini and Clareta.
“All those who believe that they will be able to kill pluralism, will have the same fate as Mussolini and Clareta. Do you know who is the Clareta of Albanian politics? It is May 17th.
As for the files, you know very well that that case is now closed. As soon as the Parliament of Tirana convenes, investigative commissions will be ready. And a commission is also ready on the corruption in the Municipality of Tirana regarding the authority of the files”, he argued.
This Wednesday morning, Meta went to Berisha’s office where a meeting took place for more than 30 minutes.
After the meeting, Meta said that there will be a joint referendum and primaries with the Democratic Party.
Among other things, the former president announced that he has proposed a name to Berisha, for the chairman of the Municipal Council of Tirana, for the upcoming local elections.
He underlined that Berisha welcomed his proposal, although he did not make this name public.
