The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, declared that the Serbian population in Kosovo will resist, if the movement of vehicles with KM license plates is not allowed.
Vucic made the statement during a press conference in Belgrade, after the meeting of the National Security Council, writes Euronews Serbia.
“Their plan is for those vehicles to leave (Kosovo) by not allowing them to return to the territory of Kosovo”. This will surely meet the democratic resistance of the Serbian people, and the state of Serbia will not allow the persecution and killing of its people”, stressed Vucic.
He underlined that they accept the license plates neutral to the status – KS, but that, according to him, the Kosovar side does not want to hear that.
On July 31 and August 1, local Serbs in the north of Kosovo set up barricades as a sign of dissatisfaction with the decision of the Kosovo government to implement two decisions: for car plates and Serbian documents.
The decision to implement these two decisions has been postponed to September 1, also at the request of international mechanisms.
In the meantime, an agreement has been reached on the entry/exit documents. Kosovo and Serbia are holding a dialogue for the normalization of relations since 2011.
