The head of the Albanian National Council in Serbia, Ragmi Mustafi, has said that the population census process with 58,845 inhabitants has been completed in Presheva.
Meanwhile, in Bujanoc, according to him, so far over 54 thousand citizens have been registered and there are still around 90 houses to be registered, and eight thousand have been registered in Medvegja.
Albin Kurti also reacted to the case, who said that it is not just a normal process, but a national and historical event.
“Because Albanians in Serbia, and with special emphasis in Presheva, Medvegja, and Bujanoc, are not treated equally to other citizens,” Kurti wrote on Facebook.
He thanked Albanian politicians, NGOs, religious clerics, and each person who committed to registering.
“We are aware that data processing, a process to which Albanians will not have access, is very important. Considering the scandalous declarations of the head of Serbia that the figures presented, before the process has yet been completed, are figures inflated by Albanians, we request the close observation by the international community,” said Kurti.
