This is how the democratic MP, Belind Kellici, responded to a question posed by Euronews Albania, on whether the chief democrat Berisha has a favorite in terms of DP’s candidate set to face Tirana’s current mayor Erion Veliaj in the 2023 local election.

“The chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Berisha, as far as I know, does not have a favorite in this race, because this race belongs to the membership of the Democratic Party, it belongs to members.

I have entered this competition and I have offered myself in this competition, with my model, with my offer. I think that I have a very natural and very organic relationship with all the supporters and sympathizers of the Democratic Party”, emphasized Kellici.

Until November 6, all candidates who will participate in the internal primaries of the Democratic Party must have submitted the documentation. When there are a few days left from the closing of this deadline, so far, only 2 candidates have registered to participate in the December 4 primaries.

Belind Kelli and Gerti Bogdani revealed their ambition to be opposition candidates in the race for their municipality.
