Doctor Ilir Alimehmeti, who has announced his candidacy for mayor of Tirana, revealed what he would do on the first day if he entered the office of this institution.
Invited to ‘NOW’ with Erla Mehilli on Euronews Albania, when asked about the towers built in the capital, Alimehmeti said that whoever is mayor should open the door to an auditing company to understand whether the constructions are legitimate or not.
“There is a transitory internal migration as long as people stay in Tirana and then leave Tirana. There are many things that can be undone. From the first day absolutely, I think that anyone who claims the responsibility to be the mayor of the Municipality of Tirana should open the doors to an auditing company to understand if each of these towers should have legitimately been built, at the locations they were built in.
That’s the first thing I would do. I would have to open the door to an auditing company. Let responsible bodies do their job properly,” he said.
