Nazif Laci, the father of the religious radical Gjergj Laci told Euronews Albania that his son was reported to the police by his wife’s brother or the culprit’s brother-in-law.

In an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania, he said that the 52-year-old man has never raped his wife.

“It was not the wife who denounced him, but the wife’s brother. He never touched his wife. If he says he raped her, come and face me. I have stayed here. Gjergji went to work, he built the house himself, he is a hands-on man. He did not work in the company. His wife does not know how to work, she has not worked a day in her life. We did not know about the ammunition, there were only cartridges” – he said.

On Sunday, the Rapid Intervention Force rescued the members of a family in Tirana from a 6-year terror. Gjergji Laci, 52 years old, known as Gjergj, kept his wife and minor children locked up because of his radical beliefs.

The anti-terrorist and police intervention was carried out in the ‘5 May’ area, where the family lived under difficult economic conditions.

The police seized cold weapons and cartridges, while in addition to the crime, the head of the family used continuous violence against the wife and children, 15 and 17 years old. The latter, after completing their 9-year education, were interrupted by their father.

The 52-year-old is known as a religious practitioner, but also as a person who consumed alcohol.

Laci is a well-known name to the police since in 2013 he was arrested by the RENEA forces because he was shooting in the air with an automatic machine gun, alerting the residents of the area.
