Ori Nebiaj has reacted for the first time since Grida Duma announced a day ago that she would resign from her duties by giving up on her parliamentary mandate as a Democratic MP.
According to protocol, Duma’s mandate passes on to Ori Nebiaj, as she secured 5599 preferential votes in the 2021 elections.
Nebiaj herself has reacted through a post on social media that she will take the necessary time to decide whether or not she will take on the responsibility entrusted to her by the thousands of voters or whether she will continue her television career.
“Due to the events that have taken place in the last few days, the issue of the mandate has returned with an even greater burden and responsibility for me. But beyond the headlines that have occupied news portals across the country and considering all the circumstances which have taken a sudden turn, I have to take my time again to reach a conclusion that is in balance with the trust that the thousands of voters gave me in the last election but also with the relationship and the contract I have with my family at TOP media”, said Ori Nebiaj.
Ori Nebiaj has 30 days to submit an answer on whether or not she will accept the mandate and become the new Democratic member of parliament.
