During his remarks at the Peace Summit in Paris, PM Edi Rama was invited to participate in the Paris Peace Forum at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Rama praised the initiative of the European Political Community, which was put on the table by Macron and is actually an idea for greater peace in the continent.

However, he also didn’t fail to mention his disappointment but also that of other countries in the region regarding the attitude of the EU during the pandemic.

“It is an idea deeply rooted in France. When the idea was brought up again for discussion, many countries thought that this was done in order to escape the geopolitical call to choose the EU over other countries but the more time passed on, it proved to us that this was an excellent idea. I support it, we saw it unfold after the war started, and we experienced it during the pandemic which proved to us that there is a great cost and that the lack of this connecting bridge has the power to cause tragedy. Without China and Turkey, we would not have survived the COVID-19 pandemic”, said Rama.

Rama also emphasized that the issue between Kosovo and Serbia is important to show that the Balkans are united.
