One of Euronews Albania’s cameramen has remained injured.
Euronews Albania journalist Eksiola Shehu reported from the courtyard in front of the prime minister’s office after protesters broke the police cordon to light candles in remembrance of Ardit Gjoklajn, Klodian Rasha and Lear Kurti, citizens who, according to the DP, were killed by the hands of the government.
“When some of the protesters tried to enter the premises of the prime minister’s office, that is, to break the police cordon, the number of police officers increased. In those moments, some of them climbed the steps of the prime minister’s office and lit candles, while the rest took advantage of this situation and threw paint against the walls of the prime minister’s office.
Some of them also used stones, even the cameraman who is recording at this moment was hit on his shoulder when we were reporting near the steps of the prime minister’s office,” said Shehu.
The protest started shortly after 4 p.m. :00, where it was originally announced.
There was a high number of citizens with banners in their hands demanding the overthrow of the Rama government.
Everything went smoothly until Berisha finished his speech. After the departure of the chief democrat, tensions began.
