The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell said that Belgrade and Prishtina are on the verge of a new crisis and that a prompt solution is necessary.

Borrell recalled that on November 11, he met the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti in Paris, and stated that a proposal was presented to both of them that should be discussed as a good way to get out of this situation.

He called on both parties to fulfill their obligations and implement the agreements signed several years ago. Albin Kurti has reiterated that he will not accept an ethnic association in Kosovo, while he said that recent developments should not divert the attention away from the final agreement with mutual recognition at its center.

Kurti has not given any signs that he can withdraw from the decision on license plates, the postponement of the implementation of which has been requested by the United States and the European Union.

The situation in the north took another direction after the members of the Serbian community resigned from the Kosovo institutions, as a sign of opposition to the implementation of the plan of the Government of Kosovo for the registration of cars with RKS license plates of the Republic of Kosovo.
