The Serbian List declared through an announcement that it will not participate in the early elections that will take place in the north of Kosovo.
The announcement comes a day after the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, set December 18 as the date for holding elections in North Mitrovica, Zveçan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic.
The Serbian List also said that neither the entity nor the citizens who support it, over 95% of whom are in these areas, will not participate in the elections.
The mayors of these municipalities resigned on November 5, as a sign of opposition to the decision of the Government of Kosovo to start the process of re-registration of cars with illegal Serbian license plates.
In the local elections of 2021, of the 31,533 voters who participated in the four municipalities in the north, 28,517 voted for the Serbian List.
