The chairman of Nisma Thurje, Endrit Shabani, considers the plan for the new Tourist Port of Durres a robbery and not a business plan.
During Euronews Albania’s ‘NOW’ with Erla Mehilli, Shabani said that public land is being given to a company without fair competition.
According to him, this project will result in a clash with the European Union, because it violates the Stabilization-Association agreement.
“It is the same scheme that was done with the National Theatre. No one is saying that a second port should be built, the problem is why should we grant public land to a firm or a person without competition, without it being clear what the Albanian state gains and with such extraordinary haste. It is a plain robbery, a theft plan. The thief takes something that does not belong to him and these people behave like thieves, so they take the public land, we are the owners, we are the ones who should get to build there. Why should we move the port to give it to them to build their highrises?”, he emphasized.
