The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated that the MPs of this political force have prepared 23 amendments for the next year’s budget and added that they have summoned Prime Minister Edi Rama to an interpellation.

During his speech at the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the DP, Berisha stated that the amendment demands a 25% increase in salaries and pensions.

Among other things, the chief democrat underlined that the reduction of the VAT tax to 6 percent for energy and food will also be demanded, as well as the removal of the excise duty on gas.

“This is a very important work meeting because of the agenda. The focus is on the state budget, for which the Democratic MPs have prepared 23 amendments, and they have also called Edi Rama to the interpellation. The presented amendments naturally constitute a real reversal of budget planning and distribution, from a budget to be stolen, to a budget at the service of citizens, their needs, their salaries, and pensions, the lowest in the region.

In the budget, in the prepared amendments, advances have been made, after salaries and pensions, where a 25 percent increase in salaries and pensions is required, a very significant increase, the education budget has been advanced, which is again discriminated against, the budget has been advanced for health, movements and fiscal measures have been advanced in favor of citizens to reduce the burden of the terrible prices that exist today. The reduction of VAT to 6 percent for energy and food, the equalization of VAT for agricultural products, the removal of gas excise, the limit of cash registers, and reimbursement of all Covid damages for businesses will be demanded as well,” declared Berisha.
