The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, has responded to the Democratic MP Luciano Boci regarding the accusations about the port of Durres, underlining that the opposition tries to hinder any project that is intended to bring economic development to the country.

“This is a continuation of the opposition’s efforts to hinder any economic development project of the country”, said Gjiknuri.

As for the December 6 protest, he underlined that it is an attempt to spoil the image of Albania in the eyes of the international community.

“We are in favor of any kind of protest, but not on marked days like December 6. However, we have not prevented and will not prevent the organization of this protest”, he said.

Boci underlined from Elbasan that they will not allow the realization of the project of the Port of Durres, which was approved in Parliament with the votes of the Socialist majority.

In a statement to the press, he said that the opposition will use every mechanism so that the Port is not built.
