Analyst Ilir Demaliaj considers the process of Primaries in the Democratic Party, from where the candidates of this political force will be chosen for the next local elections on May 14, 2023, to be ridiculous.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Demaliaj said that the winner is predetermined and he will be the MP Belind Kelliçi.

According to him, this is because the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has decided something like this.

Among other things, Demaliaj underlined that after 1992, there were no free elections in our country.

“Kelliçi is the winner, I tell you. It’s Kelliçi, it’s Berisha’s man. Berisha, throughout his history, his party and Albanian politics, has done everything simply for demagoguery. Berisha talks about the vote, he is the first violator of the free vote in 96′. The first rapist who created the worst precedent in Albania and Ramiz Alia, unfortunately and tragically, made the freest choices in 92′. And after 92′ there were no more free elections in Albania, not even the last elections”, he emphasized.
