Minister Xelal Sveçla has announced that the suspect for the murder of the 35-year-old pregnant woman, Sokol Halili, has killed himself.

In a post he made on social networks, the minister writes that even though the police tried to negotiate with the 31-year-old to surrender, he did not accept and killed himself.

Sveçla says that the Police of Kosovo as well as the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo will continue the investigations to discover all the circumstances of the murder of the pregnant woman and Halil’s suicide.

With three bullets, 35-year-old Hamide Magashi was shot dead by her ex-husband Sokol Halili, 31 years old, in the courtyard of Prishtina’s maternity ward.

Magashi was pregnant, on the last day of her pregnancy, and expected to give birth to her child in just a few days.

The incident happened at 18:00, while it is suspected that the reason was the disagreements that they both had with each other. The case has provoked numerous reactions from citizens, analysts and politicians.
