The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, threw accusations at Prime Minister Edi Rama during his speech at the opposition protest.
Meta said that Rama orchestrated the incident where Sali Berisha was attacked today and did not hesitate to throw insults by calling him a schizophrenic.
“The time of words and speeches must give way to the time of organized actions. To show the decision of the most bastard offspring of this land who orchestrated today, on the day of the European summit, an event worthy of a schizophrenic and traitorous prime minister, for the implementer of the platform and the ethnic cleansing of Albanians. A mafia regime has been installed, that’s why everyone with the poem “Freedom or death’ let’s show this mafia regime where it belongs,” said Meta.
Gerti Shehu, 31, attacked the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at noon on Tuesday, while the latter was marching towards the boulevard “Dëshmoret e Kombit” to participate in the opposition’s protest.
The 31-year-old punched Berisha in the face, causing minor bleeding. He was immediately detained by Berisha’s bodyguards and in the meantime was also assaulted by DP supporters and sympathizers. Shehu was then escorted by the police and is currently receiving treatment at the Trauma hospital.
