Prime Minister Kurti received in a meeting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States for European and Eurasian Affairs, Gabriel Escobar.

Today’s meeting was in the framework of the announced visit of the Senior Advisor of the US Department of State, Derek Chollet, who, after testing positive for COVID-19, was unable to make his visit. 

The current situation and recent developments were discussed at the meeting, especially what is going on in the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo where the barricades that have been put up to block the roads by ethnic Serbs have been asked to be removed immediately.

The meeting also included discussions on the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, the dialogue process and the way forward towards the full normalization of relations between the two countries.

Earlier today, Escobar also met with Kosovo’s president Vjosa Osmani, during which similar issues concerning the country were discussed.
