The Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, has congratulated Kosovo for submitting its application for membership in the European Union.

Through a post on social networks, he welcomed this step taken by Kosovo, and promised help from the experience that Croatia had on the road to membership.

“We welcome Kosovo’s request for EU membership and wish it much success in its European journey. We will continue to support it and offer it our Croatian experience. Congratulations to the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and the President Vjosa Osmani”, he wrote on Twitter.

Plenkovic is among the first leaders of EU countries to congratulate Kosovo on the application submitted today.
