The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, says that the statement of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who said that he will ask KFOR to return 1,000 Serbian forces to Kosovo, should not be taken seriously.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Krasniqi underlined that this action claimed by Vucic has no real value and that this was done only for internal consumption in Serbia and to increase feelings of ultra-nationalism.

“I don’t believe that Mr. Vucic deserves to be taken seriously in these theatrical actions that he is used to. Normally, such a request to action has already made the rounds of international news and it is also an additional action that creates the perception of tension and not just the perception. But such a thing can neither happen nor will it ever be treated seriously. Everything related to the entry of Serbian troops into Kosovo ended in June 1999, and never again can any Serbian soldier enter the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. This is simply an action for internal consumption in Serbia, it is an action to increase nationalist fires, which unfortunately have increased recently, but it has no real or legal value”, he emphasized.
