Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, said that there was a “Russian-Serbian plan” that on Sunday, December 18, the border point of Jarinja, which connects Kosovo with Serbia, would get burned down.

According to Bislimi, from the data obtained by local authorities, it appears that the “real author” of the events in Jarinje was the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. In addition, he said that the plan to burn the border point was prevented by the security institutions of Kosovo, in cooperation “with Western partners, especially the U.S.”.

On the Serbian side of Jarinje, on December 18, a protest called by Serbian extremist right-wing groups was held, as a sign of support for the barricades that some local Serbs have erected in the north of Kosovo since December 10.

“Despite the fact that the Serbian police showed up yesterday to stop the hooligans from burning Jarinja, this is only called an act of withdrawal from the Serbian side, seeing that such a thing would fail,” Bislimi wrote on Facebook.
