The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, declared that the barricades that have been put up in the north of the country by ethnic Serbs will not be allowed to remain in place for a long time.

In addition, he said that regarding the situation, KFOR is in full coordination with the government.

“KFOR has asked for some more time from us, so we are in coordination, regular, intensive communication with KFOR, and obviously such barricades will not be tolerated for too long. But don’t forget what the illegal structures of Serbia, transformed into criminal gangs, have been doing recently is the just beginning of their last phase,” he emphasized.

Kurti also underlined that the Minister of the Interior, Xhelal Svecla, is in Mitrovica every day and is in constant contact with the KFOR command for the removal of the barricades.

The NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, has announced that in the coming days it will conduct regular military exercises near the base it has set up in Novosella.

Meanwhile, yesterday, on the Serbian side near Jarinja – the border crossing point between Kosovo and Serbia, a protest was held by Serbian right-wing groups, as a sign of support for the barricades that the local Serbs have erected in the north of Kosovo.

The protesters dispersed after the Serbian Police informed them that they would release one of the protestors.
