Patriarch Porfirije held a meeting this Tuesday with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, with whom he also discussed the current situation in Kosovo.

After the meeting, Porfirije said that everything must be done to preserve peace at all costs, writes N1.

“I repeated and underlined what the president himself has said, that we must do everything to preserve peace at all costs, and I have personally asked the president, as well as the entire government, which I am asking through him, to do everything to preserve peace. There should be no armed conflicts because they will not bring anyone any good”, he declared.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has imposed a condition on the Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfirije so that the latter can be approved his visit to Kosovo.

Through an announcement, this institution stated that party leader Porfirije has been asked to condemn or distance himself from “the actions of members of the Church who are providing support to criminal groups in the north of Kosovo” who are “responsible for the barricades” erected in this part of the country.
