The Special Envoy of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia talks, Miroslav Lajcak, said that the removal of the barricades has solved the problem, but tensions still remain high.

“What is important now is not to allow a slide back into another crisis, and it is important for the leaders in Kosovo and Serbia to start creating an atmosphere suitable for productive discussions on the normalization of relations,” the European diplomat emphasized.

In addition, he stated that efforts will not stop, saying that March 2023 is the deadline for reaching an agreement.

Since the Russian aggression in Ukraine, the international community is feeling an urgency to resolve the Balkan dispute, even in the context of information that Russia is seeking to destabilize the Balkans in order to remove it from the EU.
