Lawyer Idajet Beqiri has said that he filed a criminal complaint against the head of the DP Sali Berisha and the head of the PL Ilir Meta, since according to him they stole the gold in the Krraba tunnel.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that it was Izet Haxhia, who told him the facts about the gold theft.

Among other things, he revealed that for Ilir Meta, he interrogated witnesses who are no longer alive.

“I could file the criminal complaint even before I got Izet Haxhia as a client and before I learned the most serious facts from him. As soon as I learned these facts, I made some other verifications regarding the theft of gold in Kërrabë and then filed the report. I asked many other witnesses, about Meta I asked witnesses who are not alive today, who participated in the theft of the Treasury. After I received all of this, I told Izet Haxhi that for these crimes that you yourself were eyewitnesses, go to SPAK and file a report.

He filed the complaint while I filed the report. In the report, he also said other things like: The treasure was stolen in 1997. From the day that the treasure was stolen until today, these people have built up amazing wealth, I have shown one by one the wealth that they have built after the theft of the Treasury. This is legal and not political,” he said.

He further added that the Krraba tunnels before the gold was taken in the 1997s were armored and the doors were coded.
