Epidemiologist Ilir Alimehmeti says that cases of local COVID are few, compared to cases of seasonal flu.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Alimehmeti said that the seasonal flu has returned to its normal levels.

“Covid cases are few. Not that there aren’t any, but they are really few and far between compared to the seasonal flu. There are a number of different viruses within what we call the flu family. This is the main problem. In past years, we have said that fortunately, children get through COVID very easily. The fact that many children are coming to the hospital to seek help is supported by the elements that we are dealing with seasonal flu, which has returned to its normal measures that were before the pandemic”, he emphasized.
