The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti clarified some details after the working dinner he had the night before with the European emissary for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.

He said that the European plan is a good basis for talks and they agreed that the agreements should be implemented, but not to prioritize any of them.

Kurti, however, admitted that there are demands that the issue of the association of municipalities with a Serbian majority be a priority. But he added that this cannot be done.

“There is an insistence from various international factors that the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, as it was signed on April 19, 2013, and then elaborated in seven chapters in 2015, be emphasized more, but that agreement is already emphasized, because it is the only agreement, out of the 33 Brussels agreements, that has not passed the test of the Constitutional Court”, Kurti said.

Also, he repeated that the final agreement with Serbia should be based on recognition. 

“Let’s not forget that the agreement must have mutual recognition and only then can we have normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations” – he added.

He made these comments a day after the meeting with Lajcak, who stated that they have agreed with Kurt that all the agreements reached will be implemented.
