Euronews Albania’s team was in Adana this Thursday, one of the areas affected the most by the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6.

Journalist Ardit Hoxha conducted several interviews with locals, who look at their city now in ruins, in hopes that they will get their family members out of there alive.

A Turkish citizen told Euronews Albania that many of her friends are under the rubble. She also said that they still hope that people will be brought out alive from the collapsed buildings.

“We didn’t understand it very well at first. I have many friends of mine who live in that building. I feel so bad for them. We don’t know where they are and many of them may have passed away. This is a very bad situation and we pray for good news. We have hopes that there may still be people who are alive under the rubble. Many of my friends have passed away, but we continue to hope. We are looking at the ruins and waiting for good news from that building”, said the Turkish citizen.
