Anxhela Bregu, coordinator at the Directorate of Theaters in Ankara, said in an interview for Euronews Albania that in the areas affected by the earthquake in Turkey, the robbery of the aid that goes to the survivors has started.

She indicated that aid convoys are stopped in the middle of the road, mainly by Syrian citizens.

“A very big problem has started, aid is going and extorted by the Syrians. Aid is going to a country where everyone is injured, no question is asked about the origin when people need to be saved, and closed houses are being robbed, because they may be in ruins. Now the worst is happening, people are starting to catch the thieves themselves. Now that the state of emergency has been declared, the police are becoming even more effective,” she said.
