Ilir Meta clarified his position for the first time after the photo published in the media, where he is seen in the company of Agron Neza, Dorian Dučka and Former FBI Agent Mark Rossini.

Names whom the opposition has accused of corrupt links with Prime Minister Rama after the MCgonigal scandal.

During a press conference, the head of the Freedom Party explained that Agron Neza, who in the indictment of the American authorities is known as person A, is known by the latter’s brother, while as for former Agent Rossini, he was not aware that would be at that dinner.

“Every photo that he has with me, every person in the Republic of Albania is free to publish it. It is a photo from 10 years ago. There are also diplomatic representatives. Is Rossini there? I do not know. When they invite me, I don’t ask them who we take with us. I know who Rossini is because of his commitment to Rama, who accused Berisha of being Putin’s man. How much is due to Mr. Neza, my acquaintance with him is old because his late brother Agim Neza was a very close person of mine, he was my spokesperson. We had social and human relations. But I have never asked him for any favor”, said Meta.

Sali Berisha’s ally in this opposition action, declared that he will support the Democratic Party’s protest on March 3, the date when the court will decide on the fate of this political force. Meta called on the citizens to protest again in front of the parliament this Thursday.
