Licensed taxi drivers protest: Formality if putting us at risk of bankruptcy

Licensed taxi drivers in the city of Shkodra have reacted this Friday by denouncing the informality that is harming their activity and risking their bankruptcy.

According to them, there are many vehicles operating as taxis on the streets of the city but they do not pay any tax.

According to the taxi drivers, the informality goes to the point that the places designated by the municipality for licensed taxis are occupied by unregistered cars taking their clients and ultimately their day’s work.

If this continues, the taxi drivers say they will surrender their licenses. Such complaints have been made several times before by taxi drivers, but the measures taken have been few. A taxi driver pays an average of 200,000 ALL in taxes per year, and if the situation continues like this, the road to bankruptcy is inevitable.
