Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke at the Euronews Albania studio about the seizure of several properties belonging to who was known as the ‘gambling boss’, Ervis Martinaj.

Lala said it seems as if the house searches and seizure of Martinaj’s property is a strategy by SPAK to force him to reappear and come out of his hiding. The journalist added that this strategy is used by investigators when dealing with cases of staging a person’s disappearance.

She personally expressed that she is in doubt about whether or not Vis Martinaj is still alive, or whether he has passed away.

“The property investigation was announced when Ervis Martinaj was wanted by the police. There is a SPAK investigation strategy and we don’t know about it. But if we go by the logic that Ervis Martinaj has disappeared, this also happens in the world when a person disappears without a trace, they try to tighten the noose as much as possible so that he reappears. I have been confused and continue to be, but in cases of disappearances, the more time passes, the more credible the kidnapping and disappearance become. Seen in this context that what I say can be misunderstood. If there is a disappearance, the more days pass the more the chance of being found alive decreases. SPAK has a strategy and as long as he is highly sought after, one of these strategies is to cut off financial resources and however low the probability that this event is staged, this person may come out of hiding”, said Lala.
