“This type of sport has changed a lot in the last 4-5 years, because there were no shops to buy parts, just the depreciation system costs 800 euros. A simple car to buy and modify will cost at least 12 thousand euros,” said Endri Yzellari, a professional driver.
It may seem like a sport only for men, but Blerina has refuted this myth. She has been in the circles of professional drivers for 5 years.
“We are prejudiced as women, but the boys have welcomed us with open arms. What it offers you in the first place, is that you get out of your comfort zone, you find yourself in situations that you don’t find in everyday life, it makes you even more independent,” she said.
“OFF ROAD” has existed for years in Albania, but the lack of support from the institutions has left it in the shadows.
“The state should intervene a little and help us, financially, give us some opportunities to hold more of these beautiful events. There should be a dedicated place, so that we don’t endanger people’s lives,” said Ervin Skenderi, professional driver.
