The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said that Russia is trying to destabilize Kosovo through Serbia.

From Germany, the head of state gave an interview to ‘SkyNews’, where she spoke about Serbia’s efforts to destabilize the region and the implications for Europe more broadly.

According to her, Russia and its representatives must face a unified response to prevent further provocations. She emphasized that through the methods used in Ukraine in 2014, Russia is aiming to do the same in the Balkans.

“They bring paramilitary forces dressed as civilians into our territory through illegal routes, then send weapons and unmarked green uniforms so it doesn’t look like a traditional military attack. But, in fact, they prepare many hybrid attacks, which is a mixture of what these paramilitary forces do in the north of Kosovo,” said Osmani.

Osmani accused the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, of trying to move the conflict to Kosovo and other countries such as Moldova and Georgia. She pointed out that Russia is trying to cause political unrest in countries like Moldova and Kosovo as a way to distract Europe from the war in Ukraine.
