Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku said in an interview for Euronews Albania that they signed very important agreements in Podgorica this Monday.

As for the construction of the bridge over the Buna River, Balluku said that it is a project proposed by Abazovic and has been embraced by Albania because it promotes tourism and produces a circular economy. At this point in the project, Balluku said that our government has taken over the production.

“This project requires a real financial commitment from both governments. It was agreed during today’s meeting and it was said at the press conference that the investment will be split 50-50 between the parties. It is a 300 meter long bridge and of course it is designed to protect the environment where it is located because it is located in a protected area as well. We will try to have support from the European Union to have some kind of opportunity that is divided between the grant and the loan, but of course if we see that it will be impossible, of course it will be covered by the state budget . We already have an experience, we did this with Kosovo, regarding the Durrës-Prishtina railway,” Balluku said.

Deputy the prime minister said that in the next 12 months we can have an exact deadline for when the construction can start, while the cost cannot be said because it must be a real engineering project to estimate how much it will be 50% that will be is paid by Albania.
