The head of the Albanian government from Podgorica has stated that Albania is on Kosovo’s side, while the Prishtina-Belgrade meeting is being held in Brussels today.

In a joint conference with his Montenegrin counterpart Dritan Abazovic, Rama said in his speech that the Franco-German plan for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is the best plan while adding that the agreement between the two countries is the only way to move forward. Among other things, Rama said that it is the parties themselves who will bear responsibility for the conditions they set in the dialogue.

“Albania is not a superpower like the EU or the USA. It is not up to Albania to tell the dialogue parties with no conditions, it is not up to us but the dialogue parties. It is they who have the responsibility to decide for their countries and it is they who pay the costs of wrong decisions. There is absolutely no other way. Any other path is another illusion, it is for internal wars, for votes, for politics, but it has nothing to do with the future. I am committed that the issue between Serbia and Kosovo enters the path of a dialogue without return and that there is no need for the superpowers to listen to them every time there is a fight in the yard behind the school. I believe that the agreement based on the Franco-German plan is the best plan. It is inevitable that Albania will be on the side of the government of Kosovo,” said Rama.
