Dermatologists warn that the number of people affected by melanoma is increasing every day, making this disease a threat to the lives of the population.

“Values ​​are always increasing. At least we have diagnosed 30 to 40 cases of melanoma per year, this means that it is an alarm for the population to turn to doctors to diagnose melanoma in the early stages so that the prognosis is better,” said dermatologist Monika Fida. The sun and the use of tanning booths are considered the number one enemy that leads us to the development of skin cancer.

“Exposure to the sun is followed by a higher risk of skin cancer, the use of tanning booths is a reason that leads to melanoma, two or 3 burns in childhood are followed by a higher risk of the appearance of melanoma in adulthood” – he underlined she. But what would ensure a healthy life without skin cancer? “A protected exposure is carried out, in the early hours of the morning, this is primary prevention, on the other hand, it is secondary prevention, which is the presentation to doctors to catch skin cancer in its early stages” – added Fida.
