International affairs expert Dritan Hoti says that the American drone in the Black Sea was deliberately shot down by the Russians, based on evidence that has recently emerged in the US.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Hoti said that Russia claims that the drone had violated its airspace, which has been opposed by the US.

According to Hoti, this incident could escalate relations between the two countries.

“In the Black Sea, it has been performing a ritual of its own, a drone of no small size, quite wide and large. It was flying in international space and unexpectedly, it was not directly attacked by two Russian planes, but there was a collision in its front part. As a result, since it is a remote-controlled drone, the US Air Force has landed it in the Black Sea. This has been perceived as a serious incident that could have dangerous escalations on the part of the US. The version, which is the most likely, since the Americans have all the mechanisms to prove it, was intentional. On the Russian side, it is claimed that this drone violated Russian airspace.
