Citizens of Montenegro vote on Sunday to elect the country’s new president.

The incumbent, Milo Djukanovic, is running against six other rivals, including four members of the pro-Serb camp.

The polls opened at 07:00 in the morning and the first results are expected at midnight. Analysts believe that the name of the winner will be announced in the run-off that could be held on April 2. Djukanovic, 61, has held the highest positions in the Government of Montenegro for the past three decades.

He has served six times as prime minister, namely since 1991. Victory in these elections would secure him a third term as president.
