Citizens of Montenegro vote on Sunday to elect the country’s new president.

The candidates in the election are the current head of the state and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Milo Djukanović, one of the leaders of the Democratic Front (DF) Andrija Mandić, the vice-president of the Europe Now Movement (PES) Jakov Milatović, the leader of the Democrats Aleksa Bečić, MP of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Draginja Vuksanović Stanković, head of United Montenegro Goran Danilović and influencer Jovan Radulović Jodžir.

Jodžir is already well known to the public, because his work goes beyond the borders of Montenegro and even the Balkans. Every day he records clips where he tells jokes to the public, imitates situations inspired by interpersonal relationships, but also ordinary events that happen in his family circle. Jovan Radulović currently has 239 thousand followers on Instagram, almost 138 thousand followers follow him on Facebook, over 80 thousand on Tik Tok, while his YouTube channel called “Drunk Electrician” is followed by over 30 thousand users. As he explains, the idea to collect signatures to run for president of the country arose spontaneously. The influencer believes that the state needs some kind of refreshment and that he can provide it.

“These people who want to run for me are very funny. So I said let me try. It’s a kind of love, like everything in life, it happened spontaneously. It is love for the country. I want some refreshment of the country, the people are gloomy. I make them laugh through social networks, but I want to make them laugh in the right way and take this country in the right direction and in the right way,” Yodzir told the YouTube channel of Montenegrin media Dan.
