The head of the government, Edi Rama, has announced that the average salary in Albania is expected to increase to 900 euros within two years.

In a statement to the media, the Prime Minister said that first, the average salary will increase for a part of the employees, while the full plan regarding salaries will be published very soon.

“Within two years, the goal is to reach the level of the rest of the region, an average salary at the level of 900 euros. We are in the conditions of a new opportunity that we will use to the maximum for the benefit of families. After the increase in the minimum wage, the average wage will also increase. We will have an increase now for some employees. We will publish the full plan in the following days” – said Rama.

Rama also said that pensioners will be rewarded with 5 000 LEK (around 45 euros).
