The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, said that the Brussels institutions “are aware” that Serbia voted against Kosovo’s application for membership in the Council of Europe.

However, Stano did not want to answer the question if the EU considers this action a violation of the Agreement towards the normalization of relations, which Kosovo and Serbia reached earlier this year, writes REL.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vučić, on February 27 in Brussels agreed on the normalization of relations. Meanwhile, on March 18 in Ohrid, they agreed on the Annex for the implementation of this agreement.

Article 4 of this agreement states that Serbia will not oppose Kosovo’s membership in international institutions.
