Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has honored countries that helped the state after the earthquake of February 6th. He awarded a presidential medal to all those counties that sent search and rescue teams, to help Turkey overcome the aftermath of the tragedy.
Kosovo is one of the countries that was honored. Defense Minister Arben Mehaj shared the news on his social media platforms.
“At the ceremony of awarding the presidential medal and the order of outstanding humanitarian service after the February 6th earthquakes in the southern part of Turkey, the Republic of Kosovo was one of the decorated countries by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as a merit of the unsparing contribution of the search and rescue team of the Kosovo Security Force,” the minister wrote on Facebook.
Over 50 thousand people lost their lives after the February 6th earthquakes.
