Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti commented the decision of visa liberalization for the citizens of his country, as well as the acceptance to Kosovo’s application in the Council of Europe.

“These two important decisions, within less than a week, confirm our European path, confirm we are on the right track and confirm that Kosovo belongs in Europe, as a union, as a value,” he said during the meeting of the government of Kosovo.

The country took a historic step towards joining the Council of Europe, as the Committee of Ministers “transmitted for opinion” Kosovo’s membership application to its Parliamentary Assembly, though it is unknown when this verdict will be delivered.

During today’s meeting, Kurti said the government will also examine the draft law on the ratification of the agreement on the status and functions of the International Commission on Missing Persons.

According to Kurti, the issue of forcibly disappeared persons during the war in Kosovo is an actual and permanent issue until it is fully solved.
