Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko told for Euronews Albania that sooner or later Ukraine will recognize Kosovo’s independence. He said that the reason why they have not accepted its independence is that Ukraine is afraid of the example of Kosovo, as it can be used against it.

According to Goncharenko, the independence of Kosovo jeopardizes the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the authorities are concerned.

“It does not depend on me, it depends on the president of Ukraine, but I believe that this moment will come. I am doing my best for this. I think that sooner or later, Ukraine will recognize Kosovo as an independent state, even though this has not happened yet.

Ukraine does not accept the independence of Kosovo, because it fears that it can be used against Ukraine, because the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity is at stake, which can be called into question because of the example of Kosovo, although I personally think that this it is wrong.

However, some authorities are worried by this scenario, but Ukrainian citizens are not. The issue of recognizing Kosovo is a big issue in Ukraine, people analyze it”, said Oleksiy Goncharenko.
